Green Alliance businesses win at 2011 Building New Hampshire Awards
Congratulations to the four Green Alliance Business Partners who were among the Granite State builders, architects, and homeowners named winners at the 2011 Building New Hampshire Awards.
The announcements were made today at an awards breakfast held at the Residence Inn/Portsmouth Harbor Events & Conference Center, also a Green Alliance Business Partner, not to mention New Hampshire’s first LEED-certified hotel and conference facility.
Winning entries were selected in recognition of their work to build, remodel, or retrofit an energy-efficient, high-performance residence or commercial building. The award-winning projects were all designed and built to minimize their carbon footprint and impact on the environment. Energy Star, LEED, ReGreen, and National Green Building Standard certified projects were all granted equal consideration.
“The winners of the 2011 Building New Hampshire Awards are the people to watch,” said Kathy Poggi, principal of Seacoast Ink and producer of the awards program. “They’re the ones who are producing some of the most innovative, sustainable building and remodeling projects in the Granite State.”
Green Alliance Director Sarah Brown was also on hand at the event to cheer on our Business Partners and meet new friends.
“It was really exciting being in a room full of innovators,” said Brown. “These are the companies who are succeeding because they understand peoples’ desire to save energy and build high quality, sustainable buildings that stand the test of time.”
Regeneration Park, the brain child of Green Alliance Business Partners Simply Green and TMS Architects, was one of just two projects selected for the commercial remodel and retrofits award, in recognition of its conversion of the former Edwards Toyota retail automotive showroom on Lafayette Road in Portsmouth into a sustainable, multi-use green office and retail building.
Two Green Alliance Business Partners also took home awards in the residential home building category: Ridgeview Construction and Ultra Geothermal.
On top of all that, the 2011 Building New Hampshire Awards were sponsored in part by Green Alliance Business Partner Revision Energy!
“I was really proud to see six Green Alliance business involved in this event,” said a beaming Brown.
