This exciting project was the brain-child of our clients that we have been fortunate enough to design with them on their quest for sustainable living and intelligent home technology.  Located on a perfect hilltop in New Boston, NH with beautiful Southern exposure and mountain views this home is designed to approach true net zero living.

Passive solar design is inherent to the positioning, glazing and design of the home.  We are employing triple pane windows, super insulated slab, double stud walls and a sprayfoam and cellulose combination to seal the envelope of this home.  The most unique alternative energy feature is the solar thermal heating system capturing the sun’s energy all year long, storing it in a massive tank and using it to heat the home via a ducted air system with an integrated whole house HRV.  Air source heat pumps and a Tulikivi masonry heater will supplement the heat load if need be.  We are also using a 4.5kW PV system to off-set the energy needs of the home as we approach a net-zero living status for this forward-thinking client.

Below is a video that outlines some of the energy savings innovations that have gone into this amazing home.
